Southbound lanes of 101 Freeway closed after pedestrian struck, killed

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The southbound 101 Freeway was closed Wednesday morning after a pedestrian was struck and killed in the East Hollywood area.

The deadly crash was reported around 5 a.m. at the Vermont Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

All southbound lanes were shut down, but traffic was being let through the far right shoulder of the freeway.

It’s unknown if the incident was a hit-and-run crash, but a car could not be seen stopped as AIR7 HD was over the scene.

This comes after another pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car in the same area about two weeks ago.

It’s unclear when all lanes would reopen.
